I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can share and explore present and past experiences, express thoughts and feelings, gain personal awareness enjoying a better quality of life, robust mental health, improved well-being and positive relationships.
My experience and interests include: anxiety, paranoid anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, depression, trauma, PTSD, OCD, phobias, anger management, personality disorders, eating disorders including obesity, physical and sexual abuse, gender and sexuality, addiction(s) including substance misuse, alcohol, food, compulsive lying, affairs and betrayals, codependency, sex and porn, internet, gambling and gaming in addition to relationship issues specialising in men and women positioned as “abuser” or “abused” aka “perpetrator” or “survivor (victim)”, caught up in a cycle of emotional abuse. Additionally, work-related stress, redundancy, bullying, prejudice.
Training, qualifications & experience
My belief is that each of us is unique with the potential for growth and development and can move forward in our own way. My practice is humanistic existential, integrating Person-Centred, Mindfulness, Transactional Analysis, Schema Therapy, CBT (recommended under the NICE Guidelines), Psychodynamic and Gestalt approaches.
Accredited Member of the British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (“BACP”). Member of the British Psychological Society (“BPS”). Course Lead LIFE-FORCE Stage 4 BACP Accredited Counselling Diploma. Workshops and presentations delivered including at BPS Conferences and school INSET staff training days: Assertiveness and Relationships, Personality Disorders, Mindfulness, Health & Well-being, Addictions, Anxiety and Disordered Eating. Fellow practitioners, if you wish to train with me, CPD workshops are available in a range of interventions.
Previous positions: Clinical Lead, Team leader, Group Facilitator, Domestic Violence Lead, Trainer, Developer and Lead on Transtheoretical and Structured Day care programmes. Specific Recovery Service Programmes set up within large London Boroughs.
Initial training: long-term psychotherapy with outpatients NHS Department of Psychotherapy & Art Psychotherapy (up to 104 weeks per patient) with those amongst us facing serious challenges to mental health including personality disorders [including borderline, narcissistic, antisocial], bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
Experience also includes working with jointly commissioned third sector Charity/NHS and Dual Diagnosis Services. Additionally delivering training and interventions within the Criminal Justice System.
Further individual and group process work offered on prejudice; including internalised prejudice, racism, antisemitism, homophobia or any other form of discrimination towards the self and/or others.
